Psychic Chat Ratings is editorially independent. No platform pays for a review, for a higher score, or for placement in a ranking — we don’t have a paid-placement product to sell in the first place. This page sets out, in more detail than our disclaimer, how that independence works day to day: how scores can and can’t change, how corrections are handled, our sourcing standards, and how we separate commercial links from editorial scoring.
How we’re funded, and why it doesn’t reach the scores
We earn revenue through affiliate links, disclosed in full on our affiliate disclosure page. The short version: affiliate commission is not an input into the five-axis rubric described in our methodology. Scores come from testing evidence — logged sessions, cited policy pages, verified pricing — not from which platform’s affiliate programme pays the most. The highest-paying affiliate programme on this site is not, and has never been, our top-rated platform.
How a score can change
A published score changes only when the underlying evidence changes: we re-test a platform, a platform updates its pricing or trial terms, its screening or refund policy changes, or a correction request turns up something we verify as wrong. A score is never adjusted because a platform asks, because an affiliate relationship starts or ends, or because of an unverified complaint.
Corrections policy
- Anyone can flag a correction through our contact page.
- We verify every correction request ourselves — against a platform’s current policy pages, its pricing, or our own re-test — before changing anything. We don’t take a reader’s or a platform’s word for a change without checking it first.
- Once verified, we update the page and, where the underlying score is affected, re-run that axis of the rubric.
- We don’t silently edit a published score. If a number changes, the review’s tested-date changes with it.
What would trigger an immediate re-test
- A platform changes its per-minute or per-session pricing, or its free-trial terms.
- A platform changes its refund, cancellation, or satisfaction-guarantee policy.
- A platform changes ownership, or its advisor screening/vetting process.
- A verified correction request identifies a factual error in a published review.
- A recurring re-test falls due, independent of whether anything has visibly changed.
Sourcing standards
Every review cites its sources: the platform’s own help center, pricing, and guarantee pages; independent aggregators such as Trustpilot, Sitejabber, and the Better Business Bureau, used as directional signal rather than a scored input; and our own test log. Sources are listed at the bottom of each review with links where a public URL exists, so a claim in the review can be checked against where it came from. We prefer a platform’s own policy pages over a third-party summary of them — if the two disagree, we cite the platform’s own page and note the discrepancy rather than silently picking one.
How we handle outreach from platforms
Platforms occasionally contact us — to flag an outdated price, dispute a finding, or pitch coverage of a new feature. We’ll correct anything we can verify is wrong, the same way we would for a reader-submitted correction. We don’t accept free access, gifts, guest content, or payment in exchange for coverage, a review, or a specific rating, and a platform reaching out does not get to see or approve a review before or after it publishes.
Complaints
If you disagree with a review, or believe it’s unfair to a platform or misleading to a reader, tell us through the contact page. We’ll check the specific claim you’re disputing against our test log and cited sources, and correct anything we can’t support with evidence. We won’t remove a review or a score simply because a platform or its representative objects to it.
