Our Full Review
BitWine is one of the oldest names in online psychic chat — its own press room dates the company to 2006 — and it still runs on the model that made it distinctive back then: advisors set their own per-minute rate, users chat first and pay second, and there is no house-standard reading package. That flexibility is also where most of its problems start.
What BitWine is
BitWine runs the “Online Psychic Network” at psychic.bitwine.com, a marketplace where independent advisors list a public profile and set their own price. The platform’s own help center describes advisor sign-up in strikingly open terms: “People with expertise or talent in any field can sign up as advisors. Becoming an Advisor is easy and free.” There is no published exam, credential check, or acceptance-rate figure anywhere on BitWine’s own site — a real contrast with several platforms we’ve reviewed that publish a specific screening funnel.
Each advisor profile carries two buttons: “Chat with Me” and “Leave a Message.” The first chat with any given advisor is free, which BitWine’s help page frames as a chance to confirm “the advisor is indeed a qualified professional who fits your needs” — in other words, the vetting is largely left to the user, per-advisor, on the platform’s own account.
Pricing reality — how it actually works
BitWine’s own homepage quotes a network-wide range of $0.50 to $3.00 per minute, with featured advisors shown between $0.95 and $1.99 per minute at the time we reviewed it. A 2026-era press release on BitWine’s own site also documents a recurring “$10 flat-rate” promotion, where an advisor defines what a flat $10 buys — a timed chat window, an email tarot reading, or something else entirely, at the advisor’s discretion. That flexibility cuts both ways: it can be a bargain, but there’s no house standard for what $10 gets you until you ask.
Payment itself is narrower than most competitors: BitWine’s support pages describe PayPal as the platform’s payment method for users, a real limitation if you don’t have or want a PayPal account, even though the platform’s own Terms of Service separately references Stripe and other processors in its boilerplate.
What our own advisor data shows
BitWine is the largest single source in our advisor database by a wide margin: 5,180 published profiles carry a BitWine source URL as of this review. That scale comes with a data-quality catch worth stating plainly: only 98 of those 5,180 profiles (1.9%) list a parseable numeric per-minute rate on their own profile page, and only 2,001 (38.6%) carry any star rating at all. Among the profiles that do show pricing, the rates run from $0.69 to $80.00 per minute with a median of $1.99 — consistent with the platform’s own stated range at the low end, but with a long tail of much higher-priced “elite” advisors our scrape also picked up.
Ratings tell an uneven story. Of the 2,001 rated profiles, the median score is a healthy 4.6 out of 5, but the mean is a noticeably lower 3.9 — because 263 profiles (about 13% of the rated set) sit below 2.0, and another 120 fall between 2 and 3. That’s a heavier low-end tail than we’ve seen on more tightly curated competitors, which fits with an open, low-barrier sign-up process: a large roster with no published rejection rate will naturally include some advisors users rate poorly. The most common specialty tags across BitWine’s roster in our data are Love (936 profiles), Tarot (539), Guidance (219), Medium (218), and Clairvoyant (206). English is effectively universal in our sample (5,141 of 5,180 profiles); we found no reliable evidence of other languages being commonly offered.
Reading formats & the chat experience
Live text chat is BitWine’s current, primary format, and it’s what the platform’s own help center walks new users through. BitWine’s Terms of Service still list “live calls, chat, pre-recorded calls, mail, and video” as generic contractual boilerplate, but that’s broader than what the live product actually offers today — phone and video sessions are not part of the current BitWine chat flow. If you want video, the company’s own privacy policy names adviqo Services LLC as BitWine’s data controller, and adviqo is the operator publicly associated with the separate Purple Ocean and Purple Garden apps (one of which, Purple Garden, we’ve reviewed separately) — industry write-ups describe BitWine as the chat-only sister network to those video-first apps. There is no BitWine-branded mobile app; BitWine’s own support page links out to Purple Ocean and Purple Garden instead of a native BitWine app.
One detail worth flagging from BitWine’s own Terms of Service: “All communications between Advisors and Users are NOT encrypted.” That’s an unusually direct admission for a platform handling personal disclosures, and it’s a fact we’re citing directly from BitWine’s own legal page rather than inferring.
Trust, refunds, and dispute handling
BitWine’s Terms of Service are unambiguous: “All payments are final and BitWine offers no refunds.” A separate homepage note says advisors “are not obligated to provide refunds,” though users may still ask — but there is no satisfaction-guarantee mechanism comparable to the credit-back policies we’ve documented on several other platforms. Disputes that do arise are routed to mandatory individual arbitration with a class-action waiver, under JAMS Streamlined Rules, with a one-year claim window.
Independent third-party sentiment is rough: BitWine’s SmartCustomer (formerly Sitejabber) profile shows a 1.6-out-of-5 rating across 20 reviews, with 75% of reviewers giving a single star and only 10% saying they’d recommend the site. That’s a small sample, and review sites like this skew toward complaints, but it’s a real, checkable data point and it’s consistent with the “no refunds” policy we found directly in BitWine’s own Terms.
How we assessed this
We did not purchase or run paid live readings on BitWine for this review. This assessment is a documentary and data-driven review: we read BitWine’s own homepage, help center, Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, and Privacy Policy directly (fetched August 4, 2026), cross-checked its founding claim against its own press archive, and statistically analyzed the 5,180 BitWine-sourced advisor profiles already collected in our own database as of this review date. No testimonials in this review are invented, and we have not fabricated a spending figure.
How BitWine compares
Against the platforms we’ve already reviewed, BitWine sits at the value end and the low-curation end simultaneously. Kasamba runs a similarly sized marketplace but publishes an active satisfaction guarantee and continuously prunes underperforming advisors. Keen offers a much larger, filterable roster with a published low-cost intro deal and at least a case-by-case credit policy. Purple Garden, which shares BitWine’s corporate family through adviqo/Purple Ocean, takes the opposite design bet — a modern, mobile-first video app with a defined refund window — suggesting the same parent group offers both a legacy chat-only product (BitWine) and a newer, more polished one (Purple Garden) side by side.
Who BitWine suits — and who should skip it
- You’re comfortable negotiating price and scope directly with an advisor rather than reading a fixed rate card
- You want a free first chat with as many different advisors as it takes to find one you like
- You already have a PayPal account and don’t mind that being the primary payment path
- You’re picking a specific, already-known advisor rather than relying on the platform to screen the roster for you
- You want a documented satisfaction guarantee or money-back policy — BitWine’s own Terms state payments are final
- You want phone or video readings inside the same product — BitWine today is chat-only
- Encrypted communications matter to you — BitWine’s own Terms disclose that advisor/user chats are not encrypted
BitWine hasn’t really changed its bet in twenty years — open the roster wide, let price be a conversation, and let the market sort out quality, says lead reviewer Priya Ramesh.
BitWine’s longevity and sheer advisor count are real, and the free-first-chat model is genuinely useful for shopping around before you spend anything. But a “no refunds” Terms of Service, an unusually open advisor-admission process, an unencrypted-chat disclosure, and a rough independent review score on SmartCustomer add up to a platform we can only score in the middle of the pack. It’s a reasonable place to browse a huge number of advisors on a budget; it is not the platform we’d point to for a guaranteed-satisfaction experience.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is BitWine legitimate?
BitWine is a real, long-operating company — its own press archive goes back to at least 2009 and it names adviqo Services LLC as its data controller in its privacy policy. “Legitimate” and “highly rated” are different questions, though: independent reviews on SmartCustomer (formerly Sitejabber) put BitWine at 1.6/5 across 20 reviews at the time of this review.
Can I get a refund on BitWine?
BitWine's own Terms of Service state: “All payments are final and that BitWine offers no refunds.” A separate homepage note says advisors “are not obligated to provide refunds,” though you can still ask one directly. There is no satisfaction-guarantee program on BitWine comparable to several other platforms we've reviewed.
Does BitWine offer phone or video readings?
As of this review, BitWine's own help center and product flow describe live text chat only. Video readings are handled by a separate, related app (Purple Ocean) from the same operator family rather than inside BitWine itself.
How much does a BitWine reading cost?
BitWine's own homepage quotes $0.50 to $3.00 per minute, advisor-set. In the subset of our own database with parseable pricing (98 of 5,180 profiles), the median was $1.99/min with a range of $0.69 to $80.00/min.
How are BitWine advisors screened?
BitWine's own help center states plainly: “People with expertise or talent in any field can sign up as advisors. Becoming an Advisor is easy and free.” We found no published exam, credential check, or acceptance-rate figure on BitWine's own site.
Is BitWine chat private?
BitWine's own Terms of Service state that “all communications between Advisors and Users are NOT encrypted,” which is worth knowing before sharing anything you'd consider sensitive.
