Our Full Review

Best Psychic Directory is a genuinely different kind of listing than everything else we’ve reviewed on this site so far: it doesn’t run readings, doesn’t set prices, and doesn’t process a single payment. Founded by Bob Olson — a former private investigator who says he spent 25-plus years personally testing psychics and mediums — it’s a curated directory you browse before contacting a practitioner directly, closer to a phone book with reviews attached than a marketplace.

What Best Psychic Directory actually is

Best Psychic Directory’s own About page traces its lineage to BestPsychicMediums.com, which Bob Olson says he founded in 2002, with BestPsychicDirectory.com following in 2007. Olson’s own legal disclaimer names Olson Media Group as the operating entity. The site’s own help page confirms it is a directory, not a booking platform: users find a practitioner by location, specialty, featured status, or name, and then contact that person directly using the details on their listing. The directory itself never touches money.

That distinction matters more than it might sound: every other platform we’ve reviewed processes payment, sets or displays a rate structure, and (to varying degrees) offers some kind of refund mechanism. Best Psychic Directory does none of those three things, by its own design.

How listings and reviews actually work

Free listings are available to psychics and mediums who meet the site’s stated baseline (using a real name and, per the site’s own listing guidance, ideally owning a proper website rather than a free page or social profile), alongside paid “featured” listings that appear with a gold border. The site’s own FAQ describes a review-moderation process: submissions are checked before posting to prevent spam, and reviewers are occasionally sent a verification email. One detail we think matters for trust and is worth stating plainly, in the site’s own words: it “only publishes positive reviews but maintains files on negative feedback,” and multiple substantiated complaints can get a listing removed. That’s a real quality-control mechanism, but it also means the visible review record for any given psychic is, by design, one-sided — you won’t see the negative side of the ledger unless a pattern of it gets a listing pulled entirely.

What our own advisor data shows — and its limits

We have 440 Best Psychic Directory-sourced profiles in our own database, the smallest of the three platforms in this review batch. This is the thinnest first-party dataset of the three by a wide margin: none of the 440 profiles carry a parseable numeric price or a numeric star rating in our scrape, which lines up with what the site’s own pages already told us — there’s no house rating system or price field to scrape, because the directory itself doesn’t set or standardize either one. Where our data is usable, it’s on softer fields: 75 of 440 profiles (17%) show a nonzero individual-listing review count, summing to 9,550 reviews with a per-profile mean of about 22 (and one listing alone accounting for 2,011 of them); 101 profiles (23%) carry a years-of-experience figure, with a median of 12 years.

We also have to flag a data-quality problem with the specialty tags on this particular platform’s pages: several of the most frequent “specialty” values in our scrape — “Advanced Search,” “Get An Instant Reading Now,” “Our Best Psychics & Mediums,” “Search by Need, Specialty or Location” — are clearly page-navigation labels rather than real specialties, evidently picked up because of how Best Psychic Directory’s listing pages are structured. Filtering those out, the genuine specialty-like values that remain are Intuitive Coach (106 profiles), Tarot Card Psychic Reading (85), Intuitive Astrology Reading (9), and Intuitive Numerology Reading (4) — we’re reporting these with lower confidence than the cleaner taxonomy data we get from more conventionally structured sites.

Pricing, payment, and disputes — the parts that don’t exist here

There is no network-wide pricing to report, because Best Psychic Directory doesn’t set or standardize it: each listed psychic quotes and collects their own rate, entirely outside the directory. Best Psychic Directory’s own FAQ page is equally direct about disputes: it offers no formal refund process at all, advising instead to “talk to the reader in person if you are unsatisfied.” Its legal disclaimer goes further, stating the site makes “no guarantees or endorsements of any advisor,” that users must “take full responsibility and bear all liability” for their interactions, and that a listing here is comparable to “a directory, much like your telephone book” rather than a certification. Users are asked to waive claims against Olson Media Group over any advisor dispute.

We could not independently verify a third-party sentiment score for Best Psychic Directory the way we could for BitWine: its Trustpilot page did not return a reliable, fetchable result when we checked, so rather than repeat an unconfirmed number we’re simply flagging that we don’t have one to report.

How we assessed this

We did not purchase or run paid live readings for this review, and a directory has no single checkout flow to test in the first place. This is a documentary and data-driven assessment: we read Best Psychic Directory’s own homepage, About page, help/FAQ page, and legal disclaimer directly (fetched August 4, 2026), and statistically analyzed the 440 Best Psychic Directory-sourced profiles already in our own database as of this review date. No testimonials in this review are invented, and no spending figure has been fabricated.

How Best Psychic Directory compares

This isn’t really an apples-to-apples comparison with the paid marketplaces we’ve reviewed elsewhere on this site, and that’s the point worth making clearly. Kasamba, Psychic Source, and California Psychics all process payment directly, publish a rate structure, and back sessions with some form of satisfaction guarantee — none of which Best Psychic Directory does, by design. What it offers instead is a founder with a long public track record in the psychic-research space and a review-moderation process, which is a different kind of trust signal than a money-back guarantee, not a substitute for one.

Who Best Psychic Directory suits — and who should skip it

  • You want to research a specific psychic or medium by location or specialty before contacting them yourself
  • You’re comfortable arranging payment and scheduling directly with the practitioner, outside any platform checkout
  • You put weight on a founder’s personal reputation and vetting philosophy as a trust signal
  • You want any kind of refund process — the site’s own FAQ offers none beyond talking to the reader directly
  • You want to compare prices across advisors in one place — there’s no standardized rate structure here
  • You want to see the negative side of a psychic’s review history — the site states it only publishes positive reviews

Best Psychic Directory is honest about what it is — a directory, not a guarantee — and that honesty is refreshing, but it also means almost every consumer protection we look for on a marketplace simply doesn’t apply here, says lead reviewer Priya Ramesh.

Best Psychic Directory earns the lowest score of the three platforms in this batch, but not because it’s dishonest or poorly run — it’s because it operates in a fundamentally different category than a paid marketplace and doesn’t offer the protections we score marketplaces on: no payment processing to secure, no published pricing to compare, no refund mechanism if a reading disappoints, and a review system that its own FAQ admits only shows the positive side. If you already know who you want to contact and just want a directory entry point with a moderated review history behind it, it does that job. If you want a platform that stands behind the transaction itself, look at one of the marketplaces we’ve reviewed instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Best Psychic Directory process payments?

No. It's a listing directory, not a marketplace — you contact the psychic or medium directly using the details on their listing, and payment is arranged entirely between you and them, outside the site.

Can I get a refund through Best Psychic Directory?

The site's own FAQ describes no formal refund process. Its guidance is to “talk to the reader in person if you are unsatisfied.” There is no platform-level dispute or money-back mechanism.

How are psychics vetted for the directory?

Founder Bob Olson's About page describes his own extensive personal history testing psychics and mediums, but the page does not detail a specific, repeatable vetting checklist applied to every listing. The site's review-moderation process (checking submissions before posting) is the more concrete quality signal we found.

Are the reviews on Best Psychic Directory trustworthy?

Reviews are moderated before posting, which filters spam. However, the site's own FAQ states it “only publishes positive reviews but maintains files on negative feedback,” so the visible review record for any listing is one-sided by design; multiple substantiated complaints can get a listing removed entirely.

How much does a reading cost through this directory?

There is no network-wide price, because the directory doesn't set or standardize rates. Each listed psychic sets and collects their own price directly with you.

Is there a Best Psychic Directory app?

We found no evidence of a dedicated mobile app for Best Psychic Directory on either the App Store or Google Play at the time of this review.
