What Oranum is

Operating since 2011 out of Budapest under a Docler-affiliated group, Oranum lists more than 800 advisors online at a given time across tarot, astrology, mediumship, and general life readings, broadcasting free public streams that anyone can watch and chat alongside. It’s the most international platform in this set, supporting readings in English, Spanish, German, French, and Italian.

Signing up and the first session

Signup needs only a pseudonymous nickname and an email — no card required — and comes with 9.99 free credits that expire 72 hours after activation. Those credits only cover private-session minutes, not tips, and can’t be spent on anything else. The free public streams themselves cost nothing at all and don’t touch your credit balance, so the actual first session most people have on Oranum is unpaid.

How the streaming and private sessions behave

Video and audio quality on the free public streams held up well in our testing, with only minor lag during the busiest evening streams. Moving to a private one-on-one session from a public stream was seamless — no re-authentication, no separate booking flow — and because you’ve already watched the advisor’s public style, going private feels less like a cold booking than it does on the other platforms we tested.

Reader quality and vetting

Oranum doesn’t publish a formal upfront screening process the way several curated competitors do; instead, quality control leans heavily on public visibility — anyone can watch a stream before spending, and advisors with a poor public presence simply don’t attract private bookings. That openness is also the platform’s biggest quality risk: with 800-plus advisors and comparatively light gatekeeping, the range between the best and weakest sessions was wider here than anywhere else we tested.

Pricing and how the credit system actually works

Private readings start around 1.99 credits a minute for newer advisors, roughly two dollars, and climb past 9.99 credits a minute for the platform’s headline names. Credits are sold in packages that get progressively cheaper per credit at higher tiers — the entry $9.99 package works out to about a dollar a credit, while the top $99.99 package includes bonus credits that bring the effective rate down to roughly 91 cents. It’s genuinely easy to lose track of real dollar spend while a private session is running, since the meter counts down in credits, not dollars.

Support and refunds

There’s no blanket money-back guarantee here — support handles disputes case by case, and Oranum’s terms are explicit that spent credits are non-refundable outside of a platform-side technical fault. The practical fix, which the platform itself recommends, is setting a spending cap in account settings before you start a private session, since runaway spend during an engaging live reading is the most commonly reported complaint.
